Going once, going twice...sold!

I went on a new adventure today! The Shipshewana Flea Market and Auction Barn (in Shipshewana, Indiana) is one of the largest in the Midwest. I had been to the flea market a few times in my life but I had never been to the Auction Barn for the weekly auction. The auction barn holds their massive auction on Wednesday mornings. Two of my junking soul sisters invited me to go with them today. It was a blast! They are pros and have been multiple times. I am grateful they showed me the ropes this morning. I have been to many auctions in my life, but nothing like this.

This building was huge. They had rows and rows of merchandise—from primitives....

to more primitives....

and more primitives...

to artwork....

and signage.

Most auctions I attend will have two or three rings running simultaneously. The bell rang sharply at 9 am this morning and nine auctioneers started in separate rings. It was a little crazy.

In all the madness, there were treasures to be found. I had never seen a crock cookie jar like this (it came home with me).

All these crock bowls did as well.

I loved these mannequins, but they were auctioned off while I was in another ring. That is one of the hazards of something like this setup, you can miss really good stuff.

But this was our haul between the three of us so we fared pretty well. It took a little juggling to get it all packed in, but we prevailed.

All in all, it was a great experience—one I can't wait to do again!
