I found this gem at the Goodwill store. It is an old printing plate for certificates. It is a wood base with You can see the border around the edge. I thought about putting an saying about "achievement" on this given its original intent.
I saw this graphic in my library of images and instantly knew it was the right fit for this project.
I created as stencil with my Silhouette Cameo 3. The first one didn't adhere to the surface so I gave it (the printing plate) a coat of polyurethane and tried another stencil. It worked!
Since the outside edge is copper, I decided a metallic would look good on this. It really worked well. I added another clear coat of poly to ensure the paint would not come off.
This is the finished project. I love repurposing things that technology has made obsolete. It wasn't likely this printing plate was going to be printing anything soon. Now it has a new purpose and a new home.
