The Happiness Blooms from Within plate I did a few weeks ago inspired me to look for additional dishes to upcycle. I found this little serving dish at a thrift store last week. I thought it would work well for collecting rings & things. In fact, I had planned to put "Rings & Sparkly Things" on the dish with metallic vinyl. I started to think it could house more than just jewelry.
Dishes like this typically do not sell in my booths so this upcylling project was a perfect fit.
I created this art in Silhouette Studio.
I had some matte gold vinyl. This is a small dish so I didn't need much.
I cut the vinyl with my Silhouette Cameo 3, weeded it and ensured it would fit on the dish.
It was sized perfectly so I applied the transfer tape, removed the paper backing and applied it to the dish.
And now it is ready for a few of my favorite things.
It can also be used for things other than jewelry.
It can be used to corral any little tchotchkes you may have. It would also be a great place to keep your keys and cell phone when you walk in the door. So many uses for a dish that may have been passed its prime but now has a great storage function.
