Earlier this summer, I purchased a flat of large skeleton keys in the box lots section at an auction. I had planned on just pricing them and putting them in a bowl in one of my booths.
As I was getting my booths ready for the holidays, I had an idea. Why not make them "Santa Keys". Keys for Santa when you do not have a chimney or a fireplace in your home. I went to Pinterest and found several examples.
I just needed to create an instruction tag. I had these gift tags in my gift wrap stash.
I created an instruction tag with my Adobe InDesign Software and printed it out on parchment paper.
I used rubber cement to attach the instructions to the tag.
I used braided cord to attach the tag to the key and then tied a bow with a flannel red and cream plaid ribbon.
This is the finished piece. It was really simple and took less than an hour to do all ten keys.
