Well...we survived. Barely.

The World's Longest Yard Sale once again proved that self-control is a fictional concept invented by people who don't collect old stuff. Over three days we traveled miles of back roads through Ohio and Michigan. We met wonderful people. We laughed. We ate questionable snacks from roadside stands. We found treasures that somehow followed us home.
Somewhere along the way, the vehicle transformed from "reasonably organized transportation" into what can only be described as a mobile antique store with seatbelts. Every available inch became occupied. Baskets inside baskets. Crocks inside other crocks. Quilts wrapped around fragile treasures. At one point we were pretty sure the vehicle sighed.
Check out our treasures from our final day on the 127 Sale.
The real treasures weren't just the things we bought. They were the stories of the items we purchased. People who greeted us like old friends. The actual friends that live minutes from me but are somehow in Ohio as well. The strangers who pointed us toward another sale we'd have otherwise driven right past. The laughter every time one of us yelled, "I see a sign!!"
The 127 Sale has a funny way of reminding you that the best adventures rarely happen in big cities. Sometimes they're waiting down a gravel road with a handwritten sign that simply says: YARD SALE.
To everyone who crossed our path... Thank you. To every vendor who patiently watched three women inspect every shelf, drawer, basket, and rusty object... Thank you.
And now.
We'll put everything away soon.
Probably.
Maybe.
Eventually.
Until next year...the vintage raccoons are heading back to the woods.
Our van is full.
Our hearts are fuller.
Our bank accounts need a minute.
And somewhere, in a tiny town along the 127 route, there's probably one perfect treasure we somehow missed. We'll be back for it.
